Noesa is a studio that curates traditional patterns and represents them with new color combinations, turning them into daily wear fashion products. It began with Cendy, Nisa, and Shinta's trip to Watublapi village in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, in 2012. They quickly fell in love with the culture and its tenun ikat. In 2014, they decided to start Noesa with a desire to introduce Flores' tenun ikat to the younger generation, especially the Sikka style from Maumere, a small town in Flores. Art, nature, and culture are at the core of every Noesa design. In its production process, Noesa uses natural colorings and environmentally friendly materials to reduce waste. Noesa's first hit is the Sangkut, a camera strap with a tenun ikat pattern. Now, Noesa consists of five collaborators that work closely with the Watubo weaving community and has a studio at Pasar Santa.
